Braeden Ashton, member of the Saugeen District Secondary School's (SDSS) swim team recently competed in Windsor at the OFSAA Swimming Championships. Over 2,000 top swimmers from Ontario high schools were in attendance for the two day competition.
In an article submission, Ashton raced the 50m free preliminary event finishing with an impressive time of 25.44. His finish afforded him an opportunity to race it again in the finals later the same day, the results placing him 12th in Ontario.
The second day of racing had two relay teams from SDSS in the water taking part in the 4x100 Free relay. The boys team, led by Ashton, also included Jayson Horseman, Zach McEwen, and Cam McEwen. Their team placed 9th in Ontario.
The girls team with swimmers Rebecca Schropp, Natalia Perico, Madi McNeill, and Carlin Reid raced to a 19th place finish.
