Breakers Swim Team shines at OPGN meet

On February 15 the Breakers Swim Team hosted the OPGN Mini-Meet #2 at the Centennial Pool in Port Elgin. Some of the newest Breakers had a great meet with a lot of first time swims as well as several personal best times.

In a Breakers Swim Team media release, participating in their second swim meet Cassie (9) and Owen (10) Richardson showed off their hard work by improving their 50m Free times by 2 and 4 seconds respectively; and Cassie also took 3 seconds off her 50m Back.

Emma Aldridge (9) finished with two 3rd places, one of which was her 100m Free with a personal best time improvement of almost 16 seconds. Kenzie Bourassa (10) took home a 2nd in her 50m Back by cutting 5 seconds off her personal best time and a 3rd in her 100m Individual Medley with an improvement of 14 seconds on her personal best time. Kenzie also took home two 6th place finishes.

Yuhai Mukenge (11) improved his 50m Free best time by 6 seconds and swam three events for the first time during this swim meet. Amini Mukenge (8) improved his personal best time in 50m Free by 8 seconds and had a huge improvement of 26 seconds for his personal best time in 100m Individual Medley.

A few of our senior swimmers had personal best times as well. Liam Fitzgerald (15) had a 12 second improvement on his personal best time for the 400m Individual Medley finishing in 1st place. Michelle Wang (13) improved her personal best time in the 100m Individual Medley by 13 seconds also placing 1st. Madison Wheeler (16) improved her personal best time for 100m Butterfly time by almost 9 seconds.

Overall Breakers swimmers finished with 16 1st places, six 2nd places, seven 3rd places, six 4th places, five 5th places and seven 6th places.
