During the month of September Port Elgin's Carey Optical, in partnership with Hoya Canada, donated 10% of all prescription eyeglasses sold to the Liv-a-Little Foundation.

In an October 12 submission, thanks to Carey Optical customers, Paul and Lorie Carey presented the 2018 total, $2,100, to the Little family earlier this month.

The Foundation raises funds for Cystinosis research with the ultimate goal of finding a cure. Cystinosis is a genetic condition that afflicts just 75 children in Canada including Port Elgin's Olivia Little.
