Carey Optical and the Liv-A-Little Foundation are calling on all of Santa’s helpers to help make Christmas brighter for many deserving children in the Saugeen Shores area by leaving a new, unwrapped gift, suitable for children ages 14 years and under, in a specially made wooden toy box before December 9.

The box is located at Carey Optical in Port Elgin and anyone stopping by will also have a chance to purchase raffle tickets for the custom toy box which was provided by Erin and Chad Little of the Liv-A-Little Foundation.

The tickets cost $5 each or three for $10 and the Erin said the lucky winner will be able to have the box engraved with something special, just in time for Christmas.

The winner will be announced December 16 and funds from the raffle will be donated to the local food bank, located at 553 Bricker Street in Port Elgin.

Carey Optical will also be collecting cash donations for the food bank. They can be found at 281 Goderich Street in Port Elgin.
