Bruce Telecom is thrilled to have been selected by Benefits Canada as the winner of the 2015 Health & Wellness Program Award for an employer with fewer than 1,000 employees. This award recognizes an organization that has developed an innovative and effective health or wellness program, demonstrating improved health outcomes for employees.
The award was presented at the 2015 Workplace Benefits Awards Gala held October 7 in Toronto. The Workplace Benefits Awards honour the success and achievements of exceptional Canadian plan sponsors and individuals in the areas of employee benefits and well-being.
“We are extremely proud and excited to have won,” said Jackie Arnold, Manager, Human Resources. “We have achieved tangible improvements in attendance, employee engagement and benefit costs over the past five years, but the most powerful indicator of our success has been the positive impact the program has had on our organizational culture. Seeing people get involved, foster teamwork and improve their health at the same time is truly rewarding.”
In 2011, Bruce Telecom partnered with Employee Wellness Solutions Network (EWSNetwork), a leading corporate wellness provider, in order to provide employees with a comprehensive wellness program.
Leah Warner, Corporate Program Director at EWSNetwork said, “It is so exciting to see the wellness program at Bruce Telecom recognized nationally. Consistently working towards helping employees live healthy and active lives has taken hold in their workplace culture. Not only do we see people embracing a healthier lifestyle, but tracking key indicators shows that investing in wellness makes good business sense too.”
Tina Morrison the EWSNetwork onsite wellness consultant said, “It's a good day when you know you helped someone get one step closer to their goals.”
