Saugeen Shores is welcoming welcoming home three athletes after a great showing at the 2015 ParaPan Am Games in Toronto.
Port Elgin’s Josh Farrell won Canada’s fifth gold medal in the F20 Shot Put on Monday with a Parapan American record throw of 14.05 metres.
Burgoyne’s Josh Cassidy claimed his third silver in Friday’s 1500 metre race, his final event in Toronto with a time of 3:07.98. Cassidy raced to his first silver in the men’s 5000 metre wheelchair race narrowly escaping a crash which resulted in five racers unable to finish the race and claimed his second in the 800 metre race despite his gloves falling apart partway through the race.
And Port Elgin’s Rick Carr placed 5th in the T11/12 Long Jump.
