Editor,
Kudos to Saugeen Shores community on behalf of the Rotary Huron Shore Run.
We want to pass along a huge thank you to the Saugeen Shores community and visitors for once more showing how much they care by supporting the causes of the Rotary Huron Shore Run: quality healthcare, local Rotary service projects and participation in events and training for the Saugeen Track and Field Club.
Together individuals, teams, local businesses, corporations and unions helped to raise well over $50,000 after expenses.
We had a fun family event on Saturday, June 1 at our 31st annual Run with perfect weather and 799 participants, runners, walkers and bladers. A record 120 children ran down around the flag in Southampton and back, enjoying every minute and delighting the crowd of spectators.
Special thanks go out to the Walker House who prepared and donated the lunch at the Coliseum, the Town of Saugeen Shores staff who organized the Health and Wellness Fair; our local police and ambulances services, our local news media, all of our sponsors, over 80 volunteers, the Southampton BIA, our announcer John Divinski and our organizing committee consisting of Doug Gordon, Matt Barfoot, Joan Vaughan, Brent Wheeler, Judy Rich, Neil Reid, Dave Dennier and Tanya Quanz.
See you again on June 6, 2020.
John and June Van Bastelaar
