Mazin’igan G’meshkwadoonmaadiwag: Annual Tourism Brochure Swap with Cultural Demonstration and Pow Wow Regalia Fashion Show will be held at James Mason Memorial Culture and Recreation Centre in Saugeen First Nation on May 7, 2024.
Saugeen First Nation, Bruce County and Grey County are co-hosting an Annual Tourism Brochure Swap on Monday, May 7, 2024.
Mazin’igan G’meshkwadoomaadiwag, which in Ojibway translates to exchange, trade paper and documents with each other, will run from 10am to 1pm at the James Mason Memorial Culture and Recreation Centre, 47 French Bay Road, Saugeen First Nation, and includes a Cultural Demonstration and Pow Wow Regalia Fashion Show.
"We are excited to co-host this year's Grey Bruce Tourism Brochure Swap event in Saugeen First Nation #29 and looking forward to networking with the tourism operators from the surrounding area," said Saugeen First Nation Economic Development Officer Brad Ritchie. "We are also looking forward to hosting the Regalia Fashion Show at this year's event, which will showcase the many different styles of Regalia and the significance of each design," Ritchie added.
“Bruce County is excited to kick start the summer with Saugeen First Nation and Grey County by bringing tourism businesses together to connect, learn about Ojibway culture, and unlock the tourism possibilities in our local area," said Bruce County Economic Development Manager Jeffrey Loney
In an April 5 media release form Bruce County, the event will provide an opportunity to meet with tourism partners, network, and swap brochures with one another. "Whether you are a municipality, tourism business, or organization that promotes tourism in Bruce and Grey County, this is a must-attend event," the release said.
Admission is free and includes complimentary refreshments and a light lunch. Registration closes Thursday, May 2, 2024 and is available here.
