The 38th annual Port Elgin Pumpkinfest was held September 30 and October 1, 2023 in Port Elgin and outside of a little rain midday on Sunday, it was a gorgeous weekend with fun for the whole family.

This year's winner for the heaviest pumpkin, weighing in at 1596.50 lbs, went to John Butler from St Thomas.

Butler also took the title for the heaviest tomato (5.80 lbs) and the longest sunflower (315 in).

Chatting with Master of Ceremonies Dave Middleton was Saugeen Shores' Aislyn Maxemiuk October 1. 2023 was Maxemiuk's second year growing sunflowers competitively, third year growing overall.
