Big Brothers Big Sisters of Grey Bruce and Western Simcoe’s (BBBSGBWS) annual Golf Fore Kids' Sake is just around the corner and promises "a tee-rific day of play meets social impact."
In a recent media release from organizers, every one dollar invested in BBBSGBWS programming returns between $18 and $23 to society through taxes, higher incomes, volunteerism, and charitable donations. Their seventh annual fundraiser is set for Saturday, September 23 at Sauble Golf & Country Club and is sponsored by Scotia Wealth Management, the Power Workers’ Union, and Beyond Reach Productions.
"All proceeds from the tournament will be used to support the mission and vision of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Grey Bruce and Western Simcoe," the release read, adding that BBBSGBWS is currently serving over 160 youth in community and in-school mentoring programs.
At the time of publishing only six team spots remained for the much anticipated annual event. "There's no doubt our region likes to have fun and support the wellbeing of our youth," the release said.
The tournament will follow a "scramble" format and is suitable for all levels, giving participants an opportunity to focus on the enjoyment and social aspects of the day.
Participants will have a chance to win prizes donated by local businesses and sponsors and the day will culminate in a banquet dinner and silent auction.
“We couldn’t be more excited about this year's event and look forward to another great day on the course in support of local youth and families, said Beth Aubrey, Executive Director.
Registration is $125 per golfer and set up for teams of four.
