The Town of Saugeen Shores and Ontario Clean Water Agency (OCWA) are currently conducting repairs for a water main break on Harbour Street, between Green Street and Izzard Street at the Port Elgin Main Beach. In a June 18 media release, water service to residents in the vicinity may be affected during repair.
Residents may notice discolouration of water and a drop in pressure while the work is being completed. Upon completion, service will resume as usual and the road will be reconstructed.
“Crews are on site right now," said Adam Stanley, Manager, Engineering Services with the Town of Saugeen Shores. "We expect to have the repair completed by later this evening," he said.
Residents who notice discolouration of their water are advised to leave a tap running for 10 minutes. If discolouration persists, continue to run tap and call OCWA on call at 519-389-1748.
