 Bruce Power new 560

Bruce Power has announced a four-year, $120,000 commitment to the Canadian Cancer Society’s (CCS) Relay For Life events across Huron and Bruce counties.

In a Bruce Power media release, the commitment runs from 2019 to 2022 and builds on the relationship that was established in 2012. By 2022, Bruce Power will have donated $330,000 to local Relay For Life events.

Canadian Cancer Society Senior Manager Geoff Van Geem said Relay For Life brings together communities, united by the goal of creating a world where no Canadian fears cancer.

“At CCS, we know that working together is the only way we can achieve all that we do,” Van Geem said. “It’s thanks to corporate partners like Bruce Power that we’re able to host Relay For Life events, which generate significant funds for our organization," he said.

Eric Chassard, Bruce Power’s Executive Vice President, Projects and Field Services, said the company is proud to continue its relationship with the CCS and its Relay for Life events.

“Every person is touched by cancer, either through a personal experience or through a loved one, so we recognize the importance of Relay For Life events and supporting cancer research,” Chassard said.
