Labourers and other specialized skills were celebrated during the annual Labour Day Parade presented by Unifor and the Grey Bruce Labour Council September 3 in Port Elgin.
With three pipe and drum bands participating, union members from across Bruce County and Ontario marched down Goderich Street to celebrate the labour movement while many people, including families and friends, thanked them for their hand work on the statutory holiday.
Non-perishable food items were collected for the Food Bank and once the parade concluded many continued the celebrations with a barbecue at the Unifor Family Education Centre.
The McLaren Pipe and Drum Band from Wiarton were one of three bands that piped their way through the Labour Day Parade.
