Canadian icon, mental health advocate and mother Margaret Trudeau met with GC Huston Public School students May 10 before she began her day at Bruce Power, taking part their #breakthesilence18 mental health awareness campaign.
Trudeau introduced herself to the students as Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s mother and was warmly received as she was gifted with a Huston Hawk t-shirt displaying the Bimaadzwin teachings, flowers, maple syrup and a card from a few of the students.
GC Huston Principal Dan Russell filled Trudeau in on the recent news of the Zgaa-biig-ni-gan bridge project which she professed she would inform her son about on Mother’s Day.
Russell was also gifted with Trudeau’s book, “Changing My Mind: A Memoir” which included a special inspiration inside.
Grade 8 student AJ Joseph presented Margaret Trudeau with flowers when she visited GC Huston Public School May 10.
