The owners of Summerside, Lord Elgin Estates Developments Limited, are pleased to announce that an agreement has been reached with IHG for the development of a Holiday Inn Express and Suites in Port Elgin.

In a November 24 media release, The Holiday Inn Express and Suites is to be a 60 room hotel situated on the residential/commercial development lands of Summerside at the north end of Port Elgin. Tentatively the location is planned at the northeast corner of Devonshire Road and Waterloo Street.

Construction is planned to start in early spring, 2018 with the hotel being operational in 2019.

In addition, on the adjacent commercial block at the northwest corner of Devonshire Road and Goderich Street, a new office complex and restaurant are planned in 2018.
