Cham-bette and organizer of the Sally Armanni sale Carol Ann D’Andrea said the July 15 event was successful and raised $1,935.

The Chantry Island Cham-bette’s inaugural Sally Armanni Sale, a play on “Sally Ann” and fashion house “Armani,” of nearly new fashion finds raised $1,935 following a day of deals and savvy shopping July 15 at the Port Elgin Legion.

It took the Cham-bettes three weeks to collect the clothing, said organizer Carol Ann D’Andrea who called the community generous for their donations of stylish goods. From shoes to purses to scarfs and jewellery there were many finds at the sale.

D’Andrea said former Southampton store Kimberley’s By the Shore donated the clothing racks and clothing items that were not sold will be donated to the Women’s House Serving Bruce and Grey, unsold jewellery will be donated to the Saugeen Grannies, the Salvation Army, Crime Stoppers of Grey Bruce and Value Village.

D’Andrea said the event was very successful and said that the Cham-bettes May long weekend garage sale in the Southampton Boat House also raised $1,900 that will go back into the community.

Clothing racks supplied by former Southampton store Kimberley’s By the Shore helped display the nearly new fashion on display at the Cham-bettes Sally Armanni sale July 15.
