The Saugeen Shores Celebrates Canada’s 150th committee is getting really excited with the events that are planned in Saugeen Shores for this coming July. And with growing community support and involvement from groups like the Saugeen Shores Kin Club events are sure to be a huge success.

From a May 25 media release, as many know the Saugeen Shores Kin has purchased a specialty giant commemorative Canadian flag which features a white signature border. This border allows members of the public to sign the flag without disrespecting or damaging it. These borders are currently making their way through the Saugeen Shores schools for signatures, with public signing dates as well.

The commemorative flag will be paraded through Saugeen Shores July 1 then raised as part of the Canada Day ceremonies. The flag will then be flown on July 1 and 2.

The general public is invited to come and sign the commemorative flag border at two upcoming events. Sign the Flag at the ‘Walk to Make Cystic Fibrosis History’ event taking place on Sunday May 28 at Nodwell Park from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and at the Saugeen Shores Health & Wellness Fair taking place at the Southampton Coliseum on Saturday June 3rd from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Come out and be a part of our history.

In addition to bringing the commemorative flag to Saugeen Shores the Saugeen Shores Kin Club has recently donated an additional $1,750 in sponsorship to the Saugeen Shores Celebrates Canada’s 150th event organizers.
