The Saugeen Shores Refugee Fund (SSRF) marked the end of its first sponsorship with a celebratory potluck dinner on Saturday evening, held at St. Paul's Anglican Church in Southampton.

The sponsorship formally ended on January 30 but since the Al Ibrahim family was in the midst of moving to a new home, we waited to celebrate.

The SSRF has plans to embark on a second sponsorship and is awaiting a file match from Mennonite Central Committee. It will be another shared sponsorship with the government, likely a Syrian family, although the file could come from anywhere. Once the file is received, the wait will for arrival will be one to four months.
