With one week the to go until the Chantry Island Cham-bettes Christmas Home Tour, the pictures are being hung, the trees are being trimmed and the knicks are being knacked, as was the case at the first stop on the tour, now in its eighth year.

Jane McAllister, owner of Port’s Emporium in Port Elgin, along with her pack of designing volunteers, decorated the newly built Tiffin home November 4. The home now features Christmas decorations throughout and even has paintings displayed from decorating volunteer, Julie Archibald.

Tickets for the Christmas Home Tour are $20 and can be purchased at Bayberry’s on High in Southampton; or in Port Elgin at Port’s Emporium, Cathy’s Flowers N’ Treasures and Accents.

The Wismer House in Port Elgin will feature free appetizers for guests of the tour November 11 and refreshments will be served at St. Paul’s Anglican Church in Southampton. On the second day of the tour, Saturday, November 12, a light lunch will be available at St. Paul’s.

Special Raffle tickets will be available at one of the stops on the tour, the Berry Home, along Miramichi Bay, to win a specially decorated tree valued at $2,500. Raffle tickets are $10 each or three for $20.

Proceeds from the Christmas Home Tour go toward the Saugeen Memorial Hospital Foundation and Caitlyn Cobean’s Community Crusaders.
