Approximately 250 children of all ages at G. C. Huston Public School in Southampton took part in their annual Terry Fox Run on Friday, September 25th.
Each student was asked to bring in a toonie for Terry, to go towards cancer research, and they could fund raise further if they chose.
“This year we've altered the course a little bit,” said Principal Dan Russell. “Were going to do a Zumba warm up and then were going to be going around Fairy Lake.”
The course took children and teachers twice around Fairy Lake and the perimeter of the school for a total of approximately 3.5 kilometres.
Junior and Senior Kindergarten children ran their race inside the school grounds.
Education Assistant Emily Gostick, with the help of learning resource teacher, Enid Johnson took part in the warm up to help participants prepare before they set off on their run.
