Bruce Power, its suppliers, community partners and local businesses didn’t let the rain dampen their spirits as they raised $165,000 to be split between the Kincardine and Community Health Care Foundation and the Saugeen Memorial Hospital Foundation.
The annual fundraiser, which over the past 16 years has raised almost $2 million for local health care initiatives, was held August 11 at the Saugeen Golf Club. Proceeds from the tournament assist the foundations in purchasing life-saving equipment for the Kincardine and Southampton hospitals.
“The Kincardine and Saugeen foundations allow our hospitals to stay at the forefront of rural health care and Bruce Power and our partners are proud of the role we play in their successes,” said James Scongack, Vice President, Corporate Affairs & Environment. “We are fortunate to live in communities where volunteers make such a lasting impact on our quality of life through their commitment to our hospitals.”
Jeff Phelps, Bruce Power Vice President of Major Projects, spoke to those in attendance about the importance of quality equipment in our local hospitals.
