Physiotherapist and Physiotherpy III owner and Manager Lynn Roy said that they had now been in Saugeen Shores for 12 years and were part of Physiotherapy III in Owen Sound, where they have been for 22 years and have two clinics.
“We're a full service physiotherapy clinic, we also have registered massage therapy, we have a registered kinesiologist and physiotherapists,” she said, adding that they also offer Acupuncture, Pedorthics, a certified foot orthotic service and custom knee braces.
“We see a lot of people over a variety of different reasons,” said Roy, adding that they like to keep with their slogan, Keeping You Active Through Life. “We want to make sure you get back to your life and your active lifestyle the way you like to be.”
Roy said that Physiotherapy III had recently been accredited to offer OHIP funded services for people over 65 and under 19. “The Ministry of Health has just taken some of the funding from other places within the ministry and put that out into the community in the last couple of years, so people who weren't fortunate to have any benefits for physio for any reason, now if they're meeting the criteria are able to in our area.” Roy added that they had a lot of spots available. “We like to use those spots so they don't get taken away and taken down to the city and used there.”
Saugeen Shores Chamber of Commerce's Carla Pepe was in attendance at the October event and spoke about the recent Port Elgin Pumpkinfest. “We had a great success this year. It was pretty even to last year, about 20,000 ticketed visitors, up to 30,000 people,” she said, adding that the Chamber had received a lot of great feedback from locals, visitors and businesses.
