Sisters on Huron hosts their 11th annual Warehouse Sale at the Coliseum in Southampton this weekend. The three day sale started Friday, August 27.
Southampton residents Heather Burling and her ninety-three year old mother Marg Davis were first in line on Friday morning, part of a line up that extended more than the length of the building itself before the doors opened at 9am. “We arrived at 7:20 this morning,” said Burling. “We've been coming to the sale now for, I guess this is the 11th year.”
The two ladies have been first in line for the event every year since the warehouse sale began. “We always find something. She sometimes has 80 percent off. It's just a really terrific sale.”
Delores Sullivan, owner of Sisters on Huron said she approximated that a couple thousand people came to last year's sale.
Dale Sherwood and Janie Boyd of the Saugeen Memorial Hospital Auxiliary were collecting donations at the door and handing out bags to eager shoppers. “We've been collecting here for about four years now,” said Sherwood. “Last year we collected $1,800,” added Boyd.
The sale continues Saturday, August 29 from 9am to 6pm and Sunday, August 30 from 9am to 5pm.
