MARCH 12, 2020 UPDATE: Effective March 12, Bruce Power has temporarily closed its Visitors' Centre and cancelled all programming, including the March Break activites, due to potential COVID-19 spread. See: Bruce Power temporarily closes Visitors' Centre
Bruce Power has a full slate of free activities planned for children looking to get out of the house for entertainment and learning this March Break. The events will take place each day, March 16 to 20, from 9:30am to 3pm and will be held at the Visitors' Centre.
In a Bruce Power media release, the Kincardine Kinetic Knights Team 781 will once again be at the Visitors’ Centre on Monday, Wednesday and Friday to hold robot demonstrations and Five the Magician is returning with a one-hour interactive magic show on March 16. There will be a daily Reading and Colouring Corner along with the Exhibit Hall Challenge; and three movies, Aladdin, Toy Story 4 and Frozen 2, will be shown on Monday, Tuesday and Friday respectively.
If you’re looking for some exercise, there is a snowshoe outing with Nancy Griffin from Saugeen Valley Conservation and a Family Yoga session. For animal lovers, the always popular Zoo to You shows will feature mammals, snakes, lizards and spiders.
“We believe this is the best March Break Program we’ve put together, so we’re excited to see the response from the youth not only from the area, but who will be visiting during the March Break,” said Chris Mercanti, Manager of Community and Indigenous Relations.
All programs are free, though children must be accompanied by an adult (no drop-offs). This year, there will be pre-registration for some activities, so visit www.brucepower.com/in-the-community/march-break for more information. There are no food services in the facility, so please bring a lunch or snacks.
The Bruce Power Visitors’ Centre is located at 3394 Bruce County Road 20, west of Highway 21 and north of Tiverton.
