Santa made an appearance in Saugeen Shores on November 25 as he took part in the Port Elgin Santa Claus Parade.
In a Saugeen Shores Chamber of Commerce media release, with over 45 floats there were lots of beautiful lights, music, and dancers to be seen. Our judges have made their decisions for the overall winning floats as follows:
Best Overall Float: Ontario Power Generation
Best Commercial Float: Tim Hortons
Best Organization/Religious Float: Southampton Memorial Hospital
Best Junior/School Float: Celtic Academy Canada Dancers
Best Live Animal Entry: Shining Star Ranch
Best Costume Prize: The Main Event
Then on December 1, Santa returned for the Southampton Santa Claus Parade. With over 50 floats there were plenty to choose from. The winners, as selected by the Chamber’s panel of judges are as follows:

Best Commercial Float: Tim Hortons
Best Organization/Religious Float: St. John’s Anglican Church
Best Junior/School Float: GC Huston Float #1
Best Live Animal Entry: Chantry Island Chambettes

Best Use of Theme (Christmas Stories): Southampton Rotary Club
