It was a fun filled, action packed weekend for the ladies as the Girlfriends Getaway took place in Saugeen Shores.

Starting on Friday evening at the Bruce County Museum & Cultural Centre in Southampton with a welcome reception, participants in the weekend's events picked up their registration kit, souvenir t-shirt, goodie bag and VIP wristband which allowed them special discounts in stores and businesses throughout Saugeen Shores. Refreshments were available including a licensed bar, appetizers and music from Paul Danard.

Several special, discounted workshops including essential oil treatments, cooking and a self defence class, were available over the weekend and the 2nd Annual Miss Huron Haven contest took place at the Huron Haven Motel in Southampton.

Saturday Night saw Keep The Faith, a Bon Jovi tribute band, playing into the night at Lakeshore Recreation in Port Elgin.

Some of the ladies had travelled from various places across Southwestern Ontario to be in Saugeen Shores for the weekend including all the way from Guelph, Stratford, Cambridge, Toronto and Port Dover.

Organizer Melissa Good said the weekend went well. “We had about 100 women this year, ” she said.Beaver ValleyRegistrationHuron Haven
