Parlez-vous Français? New French language social group, Le Cercle de Français, will hold its inaugural meeting at Ashanti Coffee December 2 from 7 to 8 p.m., and all levels of French proficiency are welcome.

“It’s for people to go to practice their French, or if they are a Francophone themselves, just to speak with others in French,” said member Stacy Kremer. “Over time we hope to eventually, if we can, maybe get a French music festival in town and try to do stuff economically and socially in town.”

Kremer said the group is open to adults at the moment and if the concept gets off the ground, then will look for ways to involve children.

The group hopes to plan dinner nights, French movie and cuisine nights, and more, where everyone can connect en Français.

Kremer said Le Cercle de Français is not a club because clubs tend to be seen as exclusive. “This is going to be for everyone in town” who can speak the French language. There is no cost to join and the non-profit group is also looking for ideas, suggestions and eventually board members.

The group can be found at their Facebook page facebook.com/groups/FrancaisBruceCounty.
