A Professional Development (PD) Day for the Bluewater District and Bruce Grey Catholic school boards on Friday, November 18 meant a day of fun and seasonally inspired events at various locations throughout Port Elgin, put on by the Port Elgin Business Improvement Area (BIA).

The Queen’s Bar and Grill hosted its very own Breakfast with Santa, where children had the opportunity to take photos with Mr. Claus himself and let him in on their Christmas wishes.

Santa’s better half, Mrs. Claus, hosted a cookie decorating party at the Wismer House. The cookies were donated by Andrea’s Baking and the event was free to attend with the only ask being that of a donation to the food bank.

From 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. there were free carriage rides through downtown with horses from Windsong Ranch out of Bognor.

The Port Elgin Library also got in on the season fun with a free viewing of children’s animated movie Norm of the North.
