The Canadian Tire Basketball league completed another amazing season with celebratory pizza generously provided by Boston Pizza. In a recent submission to Saugeen Shores Hub, the league would not be a success without the Mowbray’s Canadian Tire in Port Elgin. As the main sponsor, the Mowbrays have, without hesitation, provided support for the league, providing funds to supply T-Shirts for all the players.
The league was full in the Grade 4-6 and 7-8 divisions with 40 players in each and the high school division had the highest turnout in years with 32 players.
"Congratulations to all who participated and we hope to see you playing basketball in your driveways, at parks or at a court near you," said organizer Tim Smith. "Maybe a future Raptor is living in Saugeen Shores!"
League convenors with to thank the students of SDSS who volunteered many hours as coaches, referees and timers for all the effort and time invested in creating future SDSS student athletes.
