The Saugeen Shores Storm Bantam C Women took the 2019 Champions title at the Ontario Women's Hockey Association provincial tournament this past weekend.

The team, sponsored by ReMax Land Exchange, played six games of hockey April 5 to 7, first winning against St Mary's Rocks on Friday with a score of 5-0. Later on Friday they managed to get past the Kemptville Storm 3-1. On Saturday they took on the Ilderton Jets winning 8-0.

Into the quarter finals later Saturday, competition was tight when they faced the Napean Wildcats, winning by a narrow margin of 1-0.

On Sunday their first semi finals match-up went into two overtime periods against the Kanata Rangers with the Saugeen Shores Girls finally netting the puck for a 1-0 victory. In the final Gold medal game they faced their arch rivals, the Kincardine Kinucks, and were successful with a 2-0 win for provincial gold.

The team's coaching staff included Coach Chad Quanz, Assistant Coaches Tom Cannon and Trevor Lalonde; Trainers Laurie Anne Boyes and Rebecca Cushnie; Practice Coach (Pylon Pusher) Brent Wheeler and Manager Shawn MacDonald.
