The Canadian Tire Basketball League concluded another successful season with three championships. All three divisions were full this year as the league continues to grow.
In the Grade 4-6 division team Yellow took the Bronze medal over team Blue. Team Red was declared champions led by Adam Perry over team Grey. The Grey team played well but could not find the extra scoring touch.
The competition stiffened in the Grade 7-8 division. Red and Yellow battled for the bronze with Yellow taking 3rd place. Team Blue defeated team Grey in a close, well-played game. Grey trailed for most of the game and could not close the gap as members of the Blue team kept the pressure on Grey. Sam Kozelenko shot well and distributed the ball to a good supporting cast.
In the highly contested high school division Blue took home the bronze medal with a 1 point victory over Red while Grey crew won the battle with Gold to win the Gold medal.
The league wishes to thank sponsors Boston Pizza who provided pizzas following the league championships as well as league sponsor Mowbray’s Canadian Tire for assisting with league costs.
Registration for next year will occur in February and March 2018. If interested in receiving the registration package and did not participate this year, please email tim_smith@bwdsb.on.ca. Each division will be limited to the first 40 registrants.
