winterhawks fullThe Saugeen Shores Winterhawks have released their schedule for the 2016/17 WOAA Sr. Hockey League season. The league's two divisions have been merged into one division, which will result in the Winterhawks facing off against three opponents they have never faced before.

The Winterhawks 10th season opens on October 14 when the Petrolia Squires visit The Plex for the first time ever, while the Huron East Centenaires will make the trip to Port Elgin on December 2, and the defending champion, Clinton Radars will visit for the first time on December 23.

The Winterhawks will face a total of 10 teams, once at home and once on the road, for a total of a 20-game schedule, which winds up on January 20 against the Ripley Wolves.

The top eight teams in the league will qualify for the Sr. "AA" playoffs with the teams finishing 9th to 14th relegated to the Sr. "A" playoffs.

The Winterhawks will open training camp under new Head Coach Jim Grieve on September 13.16 17Schedule560
