Editor,
With Jeff Preston and his family’s blessing we would like to thank our community for 24 years of amazing support. Together we helped raise $1.5 million for muscular dystrophy research through our annual Celebrity Golf Tournament every July. From the golfers to the sponsors to the volunteers who came out year after year, we thank you. This was a local effort to try and tackle a global problem.
When this tournament started we carried Jeff up the stairs. He was the Easter Seals poster child, famous in his own right. After all these years Jeff has grown into a man. He is a PhD, married, and a professor at University of Western Ontario in London.
Today Jeff carries us.
“While our tournament has come to an end, I am proud to now continue the fight against Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD) with Jesse's Journey, the biggest DMD-specific research charity, as the current chair of the board of directors," said Jeff Preston.
On behalf of Jeff Preston and the Rotary Club of Port Elgin we say, "Thank you, thank you, thank you!"
