A note to our elected council to please consider alternative sites for the splash pad in Port Elgin. Keeping North Shore Park as close to its natural state I feel is most important.

It seemed to me September 10 weekend that there would be no safe parking available for young families. The boat launch parking area was completely full. The traffic on North Shore Road was very busy.

Don’t forget that in June and early July it can be quite cold close to the lake.

In my view, Saugeen Shores Council should help the committee members find a suitable place for the splash pad in a park that is close to a residential area where the young families live.
