Saugeen Shores Mayor and Bruce County Warden Luke Charbonneau.

Saugeen Shores Mayor Luke Charbonneau has been elected Bruce County Warden.

His election took place on Thursday, December 5, 2024, during the inaugural council meeting of Bruce County Council. He will serve as Warden for the 2024-25 term alongside newly elected Deputy Warden Mayor Don Murray of Huron-Kinloss and was elected by Bruce County councillors, the locally elected Mayors of the eight lower-tier municipalities in the County.

Bruce County’s Councillors, the locally-elected Mayors of the eight lower-tier municipalities in the County, elected a Warden and Deputy Warden for the 2024-2025 term in this inaugural meeting.

Charbonneau, who was elected to Saugeen Shores Council in 2006 and was elected mayor in 2018 said he was "humbled and honoured" to carry the responsibilities of County Warden.

"It is a privilege to continue serving the residents and businesses of Bruce County," said Charbonneau, adding that the County stands poised to be at the heart of Ontario's prosperity.

In a media release from the Town December 6, "Saugeen Shores looks forward to continued partnership and collaboration with Bruce County under the leadership of Warden Charbonneau and Deputy Warden Don Murray."
