In an effort to ease the shortfall of childcare workers in Bruce County, Bruce Power is once again offering scholarships to students enrolled in Early Childhood Education (ECE) programs.
For the second year in a row, Bruce Power is offering 13 ECE students scholarships to offset the costs associated with receiving certification.
To be eligible, applicants must be registered as a student in the Early Childhood Education program, or Advanced ECE program; submit a short essay (250 words) to BNPDDiversityEquityandInclusion@brucepower.com indicating why they want to be a Registered ECE and work in Bruce County.
“Access to childcare continues to be a struggle for families in our region,” said Karen Smith, Bruce Power’s Vice-President and Chief Human Resources Officer. “Last year, our scholarships helped students in our area who will become our future childhood educators and we’re hoping this program will help to alleviate this issue going forward.”
Applicants can submit their application, essay, and proof of registration until September 30, 2024. Scholarships will be awarded by October 31, 2024.
