100 Women Who Care Donation

100 Women Who Care Grey Bruce donated $23,500 to The Women's Centre Grey Bruce's new Anti-Human Trafficking Youth House.

100 Women Who Care Grey Bruce (100WWCGB) were proud to present their September donation of $23,500 to The Women’s Centre Grey Bruce for their new Anti-Human Trafficking Youth House.

In early 2023, The Women's Centre Grey Bruce (TWC) purchased a house for their Anti-Human Trafficking Program for Youth. The move will ensure TWC is able to help more youth year after year, with better facilities and more room to grow the AHT program.

In a recent media release from 100WWCGB, TWC’s goal is to ensure the Youth House is a safe and healing space, conducive to the success, recovery, and community reintegration for program participants. So far, TWC has raised $82,500 of their $150,000 goal through the Adopt-A-Room program.

With membership now nearing 250, the 100 Women Who Care Grey Bruce meet four times a year, for one hour each time, and members commit to donating $100 at the end of each meeting.

Meetings include their previous recipient sharing information about the work they do and the impact the 100WWCGB donation had on their program, followed by hearing from three members about charities that they have nominated.

"Our meetings are held in person at the Bruce County Museum and Cultural Centre in Southampton, on Zoom or you can read the meeting summary," read the release.

Members have 24 hours to vote for one of the three nominated charities and then the chosen charity is announced.

So far in 2023 a total of $66,700 has been donated to charities in Grey Bruce.

"Please consider joining this amazing group of generous women who are making a remarkable difference in our community," read the release.

Their next meeting is set for November 18, 2023 at 10:30 a.m. Doors open at 10am.
