Bruce Grey Child and Family Services (BGCFS) is hosting a one day Foster Parent and Volunteer recruiting event.
In a recent media release, the event will be held on July 12 from 1pm to 7pm at Owen Sound's Harrison Park Picnic Pavilion and aims to offer the community an opportunity to learn how they may be able to support children, youth and families in Grey and Bruce counties and ask any questions they may have.
BGCFS is currently recruiting Foster Caregivers and respite Foster Caregivers with an additional focus on recruiting for foster homes that can provide care for complex youth.
"More and more we see that the children and youth who enter care have special and complex needs," said Executive Director Julie Lipsett. "The special relationship and skills of their caregivers provides these children and youth with the opportunity to have more successful outcomes during their time in care and, hopefully, repatriate home."
"It is our mission to ensure that children remain in Grey and Bruce counties, close to their family and supports, while they are enveloped with the services they need. This project will help us in that mission," Lipsett added.
