The Community Foundation Grey Bruce and the Lake Huron Coastal Centre have joined forces to host a Port Elgin Sunset Shoreline Clean-up tonight (August 18) from 7 to 8 p.m. with a scheduled rain date for August 19.

Participants are asked to meet at the Port Elgin Main Beach, 632 Harbour Street.

"The Port Elgin Sunset Beach Clean-up will bring our community together to fight back against plastic pollution on Lake Huron," read a recent submission to Saugeen Shores Hub. "Bring a blanket and enjoy a beautiful Lake Huron sunset afterwards."

Organizers are recommending participants bring their own water, closed toe shoes and a blanket, bucket and gloves are optional.
