Thomas Gibbons of Southampton is celebrating after winning an ONTARIO 49 top prize worth $2 million in the December 29, 2021 draw.

In a media release from OLG, Gibbons is a 42-year-old small business owner and father of three.

“It was New Year’s Eve and I decided to check my numbers. I joked with my family, saying it would be great to win on New Year’s," Gibbons shared while at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto, adding that when he scanned the ticket, he started sharing and called his wife over to scan it again.

"We were both ecstatic,” Gibbons said.

Gibbons plans to pay off his mortgage, purchase a pool for his kids and invest. The winning ticket was purchased at Ralph’s in Port Elgin.
