Cheryl Cottrill, Co-Chair for Huron Shores Hospice, received a pie to the face December 1 following a successful Giving Tuesday event November 30.

In a Facebook Live event Wednesday, Cottrill announced that 105 donors had donated a total of $25,005 to the hospice, exceeding their $10,000 goal. A pie to Cheryl's face had been offered as incentive and was promised on the condition they reached their target.

"That's by far our biggest Tuesday ever and we just can't thank the community enough for their continued support," said Cottrill on Facebook. "You helped us for sure make a lot of moments matter in the Hospice suite," she said.

Giving Tuesday kicked off Huron Shores Hospice's End-of-Year Campaign, the donations from which sustain the facility through to their Hike for Hospice event in May.

On Wednesday it was also announced that The Society of United Professionals will match the first $10,000 in donations.

The goal for the Hospice's End-of-Year Campaign is $50,000.
