The Bruce County Museum & Cultural Centre (BCM&CC) is preparing to welcome visitors back on March 2, 2021. In a BCM&CC media release, as with their previous re-opening in 2020, they continue to put public safety first and have protocols in place to keep visitors and staff safe by following the Provincial framework guidelines and the advice of Grey Bruce Public Health officials.

BCM&CC report "great new exhibitions" opening, including 'Trailblazers', an exhibition created by The Canadian Centre for Gender and Sexual Diversity (CCGSD), that recognizes the lives and work of 12 remarkable individuals who have acted as a voice for the 2SLGBTQIA+ community and advocated for equal rights and freedoms in Canada.

The Museum is also opening a new permanent exhibit ‘Earth’s Climate in the Balance'. "Did you know that the earth has experienced 4.6 billion years of climate change," read the release, adding that this digital exhibition, featured in the lower café, will answer many questions.

Winter programming continues with their ‘Virtual Adventure Talks' and for those wanting a more hands-on experience the 'Museum in a Box' monthly subscription program offers activity kits and provide enough supplies for two children.

BCM&CC also launched the rebooted ‘Education Centre’ in January 2021, providing educators with an opportunity to take their classes on virtual field trips and find resources in one easy-to-navigate place available through brucemuseum.ca.

The Museum will be open Tuesday to Saturday from 10am to 12pm and 1pm to 5pm, closing daily from noon until 1pm for additional sanitizing and cleaning protocols.

Please follow the three w’s when you visit: wear a face mask, wash your hands, and watch your distance. The Archives & Research Room will be available by appointment only Tuesday to Saturday 10am to 12pm or 1:30pm to 4pm, reservations can be made by calling 226-909-2890 or email archives@brucecounty.on.ca.
