The municipal office for the Town of Saugeen Shores will re-open to the public on Monday, February 22. The re-opening of municipal facilities aligns with the recent provincial announcement, which moved Grey-Bruce from lockdown into the Yellow (Protect) zone.

Saugeen Shores Police Service have re-opened their doors for walk-in inquiries and requests for in-person records checks have resumed.

The Coliseum and the Plex began re-opening Tuesday, February 16 and are following a phased-in approach. Minor sports and regular season ice users have resumed use of the facilities while private ice rentals will be available beginning Monday, February 22.

Recreational pool programs at the Centennial Pool resumed Wednesday, February 17 including lane swim, aquafit, and parent and tot swim. Patrons are required to pre-book their time slot by visiting www.saugeenshores.ca/register. Registered programs will be phased-in during the next two weeks and participants will be contacted directly by email.

Mayor Luke Charbonneau called the Town's re-opening approach thoughtful and said it was in compliance with Public Health guidelines. "The municipality is committed to providing service to residents, and I’m pleased to see local organizations returning to our arenas and our pool,” Charbonneau added.

Residents planning to come to the municipal office should consider calling or emailing in advance to book an appointment with staff. Guests who are reminded that masks are mandatory when visiting municipal facilities or any indoor public space.

“As we re-open, we need to be extra diligent in our efforts to stop the spread of COVID-19. This includes wearing masks in public spaces, washing your hands frequently and staying home if you aren’t feeling well," said Charbonneau.
