Director of Education for the Bluewater District School Board, Lori Wilder, released a letter to parents and guardians February 11 concerning the provincial government's decision to delay March Break.
The decision to delay was to help reduce the potential for further spread of COVID-19 across Ontario, read the letter, adding that March Break, which was originally scheduled for March 15 to 19, will now take place April 12 to 16, 2021. School and transportation services will continue as usual during the March 15 to 19 period.
"We recognize that this has been a very unusual school year with many of our students looking forward to a well-deserved break, whether they have been learning in-person or remotely," read the letter. "While we will need to wait a bit longer, we are pleased to hear that another opportunity will be made available in the not-too-distant future for students to have their break."
The later continued. "I have every confidence that our ongoing commitment to following the advice of our public health officials will pay off. Our schools remain safe and healthy environments for our students and staff. Let us continue to work together and stay the course."
