Someone has defaced the newly installed rainbow crosswalk in front of Saugeen District Senior School.

The incident is thought to have taken place between the hours of 11 a.m. and 7 p.m. on Saturday, August 29 when it is alleged that at least one driver made several passes over the newly painted surface, spinning their tires and leaving skid marks. Saugeen Shores Police said the matter was being investigated as a hate motivated crime.

The announcement of the rainbow crosswalk in Saugeen Shores came in March, 2020 and installation took place August 26.
