Bruce County Public Library is officially preparing to reopen branches to the public for regular in-person service. In an August 4 media release, as of Monday, August 17, all 17 branches of the Bruce County Public Library will be open to the public. For those who would prefer to not come inside the branches, their curbside pickup service will continue to be offered.

Public computers will be available for patron use by appointment and patrons are asked to wear a face covering and must maintain proper social distancing while visiting the branches.

As well, patrons must sanitize their hands when entering and are asked to not touch materials they don’t intend to borrow. There will be limits on the number of people in branches and patrons are asked to find and check out materials in a timely manner.

Brooke McLean, Directory of Library Services said they're looking forward to reopening, calling the library "the great equalizer in our communities, ensuring computer access for those who have been without and getting materials in the hands of people who need them."

Branch hours of service will remain reduced to allow for additional cleaning, citing "a focus on safety of staff and patrons."

Programming will remain online, including Online Story Time every weekday at 3pm on their Facebook page, and Online Trivia Nights on Mondays and Fridays. Digital materials and services are always available 24/7 at library.brucecounty.on.ca.

"Staff appreciate your patience as they work through the process of reopening and hope to see you soon," read the release.
