Beginning today, July 31, the Town of Saugeen Shores and Saugeen Shores Police Services are once again partnering to share bicycle safety messages every Friday throughout the summer.
In a July 30 media release from the Town of Saugeen Shores, from July 31 to September 4, the public can find a new post on the Town’s social media channels and website. The goals of the annual campaign are to inform the community about share-the-road rules, laws and trail etiquette; to educate by creating awareness, sharing resources and information; and to promote active transportation, encouraging people to get out on their bikes.
“All road and trail users play a critical role in keeping these spaces safe for everyone to enjoy,” said Mayor Luke Charbonneau. “Together we can demonstrate our designation as a bike-friendly community by showing mutual respect on our roads and trails.”
The public is invited to share their biking photos with @SaugeenShoresON on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram using the hashtags #SSBikeFriendlyFriday and #ExploreTheShore.
