Municipal campgrounds remain closed during the Victoria Day weekend while the Town of Saugeen Shores is seeking clarification on the opening of parks and park amenities from the province.

In a May 14 media release, no reference to parks was included in documentation from the province even though Ontario Premier Doug Ford mentioned parks in his announcement Thursday.

The Town will announce changes to outdoor amenities as clarification is received from the province. Fishing from municipal property will be allowed when parks use is confirmed.

Saugeen Shores Beaches

The beaches in Saugeen Shores remain closed for the long weekend by order of the Grey Bruce Medical Officer of Health.

As work to prepare harbours, boat launches and municipal campgrounds for use has only recently been allowed, further announcements related to their openings will be coming soon. However, all remain closed during the upcoming long weekend and walkthrough access is still prohibited.
