Two personal injury motor vehicle collisions occurred over the Labour Day weekend in Saugeen Shores, sending three drivers to hospital.
In a September 3 Saugeen Shores Police media release, on Friday, August 30 at 10:52 a.m. a two vehicle collision occurred at the intersection of North Rankin Street and Turner Street in Southampton. A pick-up truck was attempting to cross the intersection when it struck an eastbound vehicle on North Rankin Street, causing both drivers to sustain injuries.
The male driver of the pick-up sustained undisclosed internal injuries and was air-lifted by ORNGE to a London hospital for an assessment. The injuries are not life threatening. The other driver was treated and released from Saugeen Memorial Hospital.
On Monday, September 2 a passerby came across a single vehicle collision on Bruce County Road 17 near Harry Thede Sideroad. A vehicle had run off the road and slid down an embankment landing on its roof. The vehicle had been there for an undetermined length of time.
The driver, who was located ejected from the vehicle, was conscious but had sustained severe injuries to his lower extremities. He was air-lifted by ORNGE to a London hospital.
Both incidents are still under investigation.
