On Monday, November 26th at 6:37pm the Saugeen Shores Police were called to the area of Rexall Pharmacy on Goderich Street in Port Elgin concerning a pedestrian that had been struck by a vehicle.
In a November 27 media release, emergency services arrived on the scene and located a 60 year old Port Elgin woman with severe injuries on the roadway. The woman was transported to Saugeen Memorial Hospital where efforts to save her were not successful.
The Ontario Provincial Police collision reconstructionist unit attended to assist the Saugeen Shores Police with the investigation.
This incident is still under investigation and while police have confirmed that it is not a fail to remain, they are asking for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward.
The victim’s name is not being released to respect the privacy of the family.
